Quote from Mike Baron: Nexus is a Russian fatalist who believes in God. These two strains have always fought for the Russian soul--belief in the Almighty, and the futility of any human endeavor. What do you do if you believe in God but you also believe all human endeavor is doomed to end in defeat? Live as good a life as possible and hope for a better afterlife? Horatio is conflicted. On the other hand, an overwhelming force compels him to execute people. On the other, he wants to create. The sacred and the profane. The yin and the yang. Did he come to save the West--- or destroy? |
